Natural Stone & Marble in Reading
Stone is not a manufactured product, and it should not be treated like one. Every batch is different, and that is the point.

Before fixing, we dry-lay stone in the room and shuffle the tiles until the veining flows and the shade variation looks deliberate rather than random. Pale marble from a new batch can vary dramatically from edge to edge, so we work with the material in front of us instead of laying it straight out of the crate.
Stone needs a different bed and a different finish: a white adhesive that will not stain light marble, a sealed surface before grouting so the joints do not shadow, and a final impregnator once the grout has cured. For floors we recommend honed or brushed finishes, which grip better and forgive the odd mark far more than polished stone.
